Yesterday Taylor Swift took her Red Tour to Berlin performing at the o2 World.
I was lucky enough to attend the concert and am going to review my experience :)
Arriving at the o2 at quarter to 7 I got in very quick because gates were already open for half an hour. Getting in all the fan shops and shoe shops were full-packed with people and making my way to my seat I saw a lot of very funny looking girls who tried to impersonate Taylor.
The opening act was Andreas Bourani who's very sweet and nice. He sang some of his German songs like his first hit "Nur In Meinem Kopf" (engl.: "Only in my head").
After the concert was over he randomly chilled out in the lobby so we took q picture together. Which I didn't properly thank him for as I still was very emotional from the concert. But... Thank you Andreas you were amazing!
After the opening act finished and during Taylor's team built up the stage for her Taylor's mom Andrea Finlay walked around the audience choosing people who are allowed to see Taylor backstage after the show. I don't know how many she chose or what her choosing concept was but I wasn't her choice haha
Taylor kicked off the concert with "State Of Grace" which started with some drummers that were brought down to the stage. Then Taylor got out wearing this:
Taylor's second song was "Holy Ground where she got infront on the circle and greeted the crowd.
Before the third song Taylor talked about how there's one colour that, for her, describes every kind of emotion and that's RED.
For Red she played a red guitar herself and rocked out with her band :)
After the song was finished Taylor and her dancers changed into another outfit while the audience watched a fifties video of a woman explaining how being lucky and famous is nice but there are also some shadowy sides of show biz.
Her dancers came on stage as journalists and photographers. And when she came out she wore a red gown looking absolutely stunning :)
For "Mean" she put on a white skirt over her red overall. But what was more moving was her speech before the song. She talked about how she started writing when she was lonely and sad in her room. And when those songs got popular she realised she wasn't the only one feeling this way when someone was mean.
The song Stay Stay Stay was the last she did on the main stage before she got over to the B stage during 22 with a very hipster looking crew ;)
She then talked to the fans who were more in the background being further away from the stage and performed songs like You Belong With Me and Sparks Fly while being lifted up and above the heads of the audience. With Sparks Fly she went back to the main stage and changed her outfit yet again while her violin player did s great violin version of IKYWT.
This time she wore a kind of baroque like dress to perform the dubstep version of I Knew You Were Trouble. During the song she destroyed the dress and came out with a black super short outfit.
As for All Too Well she came out with a long black dress having a heartbreaking speech about how she's trying to forget a guy and ends up writing a song about him in the middle of the night.
Afterwards she changed again this time into a lovely white dress and barefoot to perform Lovestory.
Already in the beginning Taylor talked about how she loves surprises and believes Berlin also does.
She now got back to that first statement saying she's very thankful because we've been so good to her. And said we've also been good to a very close friend of hers (put in a first scream because I felt what was coming). she said we brought his new song up the charts (I knew what was coming so I basically started to hyperventilate). And just as her if we'd welcome him he'd thank us and we should give it up for Ed Sheeran (I completely lost it by then screaming crying being almost unable to stand). This was THE highlight of the show. So they both performed "I See Fire" and Ed was gone again.
While performing Treacherous she had a black and white dress on and balanced on one part of the stage.
And before the final song she changed onstage behind a black curtain while dancers did some balet action infront.
Of course the last song was We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together where Taylor appeared in a circo and was brought around the crowd with a moving stage once again.
At the end of the day this show was incredibly with so many wardrobe changes, a really stunning looking Taylor and some very nice goodies in the songs when she put her heart into it and sang the songs even better than on CD :)
The only thing I have to criticise is that you could tell from the beginning on that the whole show was choreographed and every look or move was planned before.
But other than that it's been one of the best nights of my life :)
as you know Taylor Swift has added another show in Berlin to her Red Tour. Now I'm lucky enough to be able to go to her concert.
But as I am no grumpy grinch I want to help you all to get noticed.
My plan is to make a book for her in which everyone can send their greeting/pictures/drawings/letters for Taylor to see.
If you have any idea what you want Taylor to see from you please share it with me via the comment box on this website, my twitter account (@HollyweirdBlogg), or my tumblr blog http://www.lisatweetblog.tumblr.com.
I might even put up an email account for this occasion but I'll let you know about that :)
The deadline for this project isn't chosen yet but I guess as the concert takes place on February 7th I will probably put everything in that will be send to me until Feb 5 :)
So here's what you have to do:
1. Write/draw/take a pic that you want Taylor to see.
2. Send your stuff to me via: twitter, tumblr or my website /taylor-swift.html.
3. Don't forget to add your twitter username or if you don't have twitter include your email or sth like that.
4. Wait for me to contact you: I'll connect with you again to tell you I received and included your part (if you submit it on time) and if you'd like I can show you your page in the book :)
Of course the rule is: First come, first served.
So hurry to get one of the first pages.
So now it's sitting and waiting for your submissions and I hope to hear from as many of you as possible.
